The Mobile Application World

            Being a part of the MIS major, I focus heavily on technology. To be more specific, mobile applications are a main focus. The book App Empire: Make Money, Have a Life, and let Technology Work for You would be of high interest to someone in my major because it teaches you how to execute and run your own mobile applications company and it also helps you integrate technology into your business to increase productivity.

            The mobile application world is growing at an extreme rate; so, all the MIS majors would only benefit from reading this book. It provides instructions for you to get a mobile application company up and running. “Consumers are estimated to spend on average about two hours a day on apps” (Lessen and Ante, 2014). The app market is huge and is not slowing down. Everyone should take advantage of the app market while it’s still continuing to grow.

            Integrating technology into your business will increase your productivity to a point where you will be able to run your business directly from your phone. “To me, the most telling aspect about mobile is the way enterprises are using mobile solutions to simplify operations, resolve disruptive challenges, and boost their productivity” (Costanzo, 2014).  Technology will help you avoid difficult challenges and help you get through the challenges that are unavoidable.

            Technology is increasing the amount of opportunities I have as an MIS major and helping businesses grow. This book has helped me become apart of one of the fastest growing markets in the world, mobile applications.
